Yes.  The venue may be rented at a lower rate on Friday and Sunday, and an even lower rate on Monday through Thursday.  Military may receive a 10% discount.  Short notice (90 days or less) and off-season discounts are also available.  We often run specials that change from time to time.  Check our website for the current specials.

What is a Facilities Manager and what do they do?

The Meadows at Marshdale Facilities Manager is the first one at the venue and the last one out.  They prepare the venue for your event by setting up chairs at the ceremony site and tables and chairs inside the Barn, according to the client’s request.  They work alongside the caterer to ensure that the event flows as smoothly as possible.  They also help with tear down and clean up, ensuring that all personal items are removed in the allotted time.  Please note, the building host is not a wedding planner.

Do you have an onsite wedding planner?

We offer a Day-of-Coordinator wedding service.  This is an additonal fee, which will depend on what type of event you are planning.  If you are interested in this service, please contact our office.

May we use a caterer that is not on your recommended catering list?

Yes, you may. We strive to let you have your wedding, your way.  We allow everything from delivered pizza to a do-it-yourself potluck to a fully catered event.  Our desire is that the venue to be returned to the condition in which it was found.

Please see below for an explanation of our cleaning agreement.

Who is responsible for cleaning the venue?

While the building host and caterers take care of the facility, ultimately, the client is responsible to ensure the it is left in the same condition in which it was found.  At the time of booking, we’ll go over the Cleaning Agreement with you which gives you two options:

1) Present the cleaning checklist to your caterer and ask that they be responsible for the checklist as a part of earning your business.

2) Pay Meadows at Marshdale the cleaning fee and we’ll take care of the cleaning for you.

What is your alcohol policy?  Is there a corkage fee?

We require that a licensed and insured bartender be hired to serve alcohol.  Many caterers have  insurance and licensed bartenders on staff.  We recommend Hey Bartender, as they have worked at Meadows at Marshdale for a number of years and know our venue well.

Please note:  The bar must close 30 minutes prior to the end of the event, or 90 minutes prior to the end of the booking period.

No, there is not a corkage fee.

How much time are we allowed for our rehearsal?

We allow 1-hour for guests to use the venue for the purpose of rehearsing.  Decorating will not be allowed during this time, due to liability concerns (We do not want your items getting broken or stolen prior to your event.  We have cleaning crews, outside contractors and tours for future events in the building regularly) Meadows at Marshdale staff will unlock the building, if the ceremony is taking place indoors.  Otherwise, the outdoor ceremony site will be available for rehearsing.  Please email or call our office to ensure that there is not another wedding scheduled and to set a time for your rehearsal.

Do you have sound equipment?

Yes, Meadows at Marshdale recently purchased a 150 Watt 2 speaker portable sound system.  It is available for rent and is intended for amplifying sound at the Mountainside Arbor.  It can be moved to the Barn after the ceremony to use for introductions at the reception.

What time can my vendors start setting up?  Can we decoate early?

The booking times of 8 or 10-hours include set up.  We do not allow decorating a day early.  Early drop-offs, arrivals, or pre-decorating are not allowed.  A storage shed near the Red Barn, may be used to store decorations in advance, depending on availability.

Can we leave our decorations overnight and pick them up the morning after?

Decorations and all equipment must be completely out of the facility by the end of the rental time block.  Nothing may be left inside the facility overnight.

What kind of music can we play at our wedding?

We do not place restrictions on the choice of music, or DJ, individual musician vs. a live band.  Please note: quiet hours begin at 10pm.  If music is being played outside, it must be moved indoors at 10pm.  Music must stop 1 hour prior to the end of the booking period.
